Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

March 10
Officer checked a vehicle tag and it came back uninsured. Officer then confirmed the insurance was not valid and initiated a traffic stop. Officer approached the vehicle and driver admitted that there was no insurance on the vehicle. When advised that the vehicle would be towed, offender became visibly and audibly irate and began cursing. Offender was offered a ride to his residence but angrily advised he didn’t want a ride and began walking away from the scene.
Officer responded to Dollar General in reference to a shoplifter. Officer made contact with offender and explained to her about the report and she stated she was not shoplifting and the officer could check her. Offender removed a knife from her purse and handed it to officer. Officer then observed offender slip something into the shopping basket from her purse while she was kneeling on the ground. Another officer arrived to assist. Offender was then detained and upon checking the shopping basket, a used syringe was found. Officer then checked offender’s purse and found a used glass pipe and a short plastic straw. Officers then viewed the camera footage to find offender had put items in her boot. It was also discovered that offender entered had three plastic bags containing a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for meth.

March 11
Officer was dispatched to the Moose Lodge in reference to a possible theft. Upon arrival, complainant stated that the former administrator (offender) was recently voted out of his position as administrator by members of the Moose Club and offender removed nearly all of the alcoholic beverages, administrator’s computer, all keys to doors/pool tables, and the business’s alcohol license from the building sometime between March 7 – March 11. C/o needed some form of documentation for the incident for club purposes. Offender was unable to give exact descriptions of the missing items, but had a general idea.
Officer responded to Turner Dr. in reference to stolen property. Upon arrival, complainant stated that appx. $2000 worth of roofing metal was stolen from the yard of his rental property. Residence occupant told officer that she did not hear or see anyone in the yard and her dog always barks when someone walks onto the property and claims that all metal is accounted for.
Officers responded to King Circle in reference to an unwanted person. Complainant stated she wanted offender away from the residence due to them arguing and him being too loud. Offender was packing his things and ended up leaving with his mother.
Officer observed a vehicle enter the highway without any lights on, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. The driver explained that he did not have his license but provided officer with his name and DOB. The information was entered into GCIC several times and came back with nothing, therefore led the officer to believe the driver was providing false info. The driver exited the vehicle and was placed into handcuffs. He then gave consent for officers to retrieve his wallet from the vehicle and the driver’s ID card was found. Upon running offender’s information, it was discovered that he had a warrant for his arrest. It was also discovered that the vehicle had suspended registration.
Officer was dispatched to Market St. in reference to a dispute. Upon arrival, victim stated offender was not performing his community service in the prescribed manner. Victim stated offender would make excuses for not working and became sarcastic when given directions.
Officer responded to Sunset Inn in reference to a dispute. Upon arrival, officer made contact with complainant who advised that she and her boyfriend were sharing a hotel room and offender became verbally offensive due to him being intoxicated.
Officer was dispatched to Murphy’s in reference to an individual approaching strangers and begging for money. Officer was aware of prior incidents involving offender entering local businesses begging for money, causing patrons to feel uncomfortable.
Officer responded to Tractor Supply in reference to a shoplifter. Officer was reviewing the camera footage and advised units that offender was seen attempting to remove items from the store in a bag. When offender stopped store employees, she advised them that she had a receipt for the items, but she did not. Animal control was contacted to take possession of the dog offender had with her in the store. Offender was handcuffed and taken to jail for shoplifting and issued a criminal trespass order from Tractor Supply.
Officer took a report from complainant who stated a bulldog went into her yard and killed her dog.

March 12
Officer responded to Washington St. in reference to complainant stating she has been getting harassed by the mother of her boyfriend’s children. Offender stated she went to the residence unannounced looking for her son and c/o stated offender was beating on the door and when asked to leave, she stated she was not going nowhere.
Officers responded to Hickory Trace in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers made contact with offender as he was leaving the apartment and got into his vehicle and was trying to leave when officer made contact with him. Offender stated he did not have anything to say to the police. Complainant stated she and offender had a heated verbal altercation over relationship issues. C/o also stated there was no physical altercation, however, offender was bleeding. While talking to c/o, officer observed a small spot of blood on c/o’s sweatshirt and asked if she was injured and she said not.

March 13
Officers observed a vehicle without taillights and initiated a traffic stop. The officer asked the driver for his license and ran the numbers with the information coming back with invalid license through the state of Florida. Driver was transported to the police department. 
Officers were dispatched to a local business due to an employee finding a child’s pink bicycle in the wood line. Officers took bicycle in, no further information at this time. 
Officer stopped a vehicle for going 66 in a 35. Driver did not speak any English and had to use an app to translate back and forth with the officer. Driver stated he did not have a license. The officer contacted over the radio asking for an officer fluent in Spanish was nearby. That officer came to the scene and explained to the driver what was going on and he was placed under arrest. 
Officer conducted a traffic stop due to vehicle going about 55 in a 45, the officer waited to see if the driver was going to slow down going into the 35 MPH zone, but the driver did not slow down. The officer had to catch up with the vehicle and pulled the vehicle over and asked for license. The officer informed the driver he could smell marijuana. The driver stated he did not have any marijuana on him, but had smoked in the car the day before. The officer informed the driver that he was legally allowed to search the car due to the smell and the driver was okay with that and informed him that he does have a weapon in the bag in the backseat and there may be marijuana in there as well. Officer called in for backup, then they proceeded to search the vehicle. Officers found marijuana in a bag inside of a bottle and a gun. Officers secured the marijuana and charged the driver for speeding and marijuana. 
Officers responded to a call wit female stating that her ex-boyfriend came into her residence and jumped on her and damaged her property. He then left in her vehicle before officers arrived. Victim was bruised and scratched from ex-boyfriend. 
Officers conducted a traffic stop and driver did not have a license. 
Officers have a bench warrant on man who failed to appear, he informed the officer he had a crack pipe on him and he smelled like alcohol. Officers arrested him and transported him to the jail.

March 14
Officer conducted a traffic stop and the officer informed her that she was speeding. The driver stated she could not get a ticket because she has a state job. The officer ran her license and it came back suspended for failure to appear with a serve date. She was placed under arrest when the officer smelled a strong odor off marijuana on her. 
Officers were dispatched to a 911 call from a man who states he was going to pick up someone from their home for church and was not getting an answer to the knocks on the doors or windows. Looking in the window the man was face down on his bedroom floor. The gained entry to the back door and found him deceased in his bedroom. 
Officers were stopped by a man while patrolling, stating he needed to make a report. A man was harassing him by shooting him birds, yelling and cursing at him. Then he woke up the next morning to multiple missed Facebook calls. He stated he has not and will not respond to this man and his behavior. 
Officers were dispatched to a local fast-food restaurant stating a U-Haul came through the drive thru earlier that day and bent part of the awning. 
Officers respond in reference to possible burglary. Complainant states when he arrived home from work that day, his front door was kicked open. No items were missing.

March 15
Officers were dispatched for damage to a vehicle. Owner stated that about two nights ago he was woken up to noises around his home, but with a quick look around everything appeared to be okay. He later noticed that the cover was removed from his street bike and a hose was pulled outside the flaring and the cap was removed from his rear sway bar. 
Officers were dispatched to a local store where a woman was trying to shoplift store items. Using self-checkout she was scanning some items and putting the other non-scanned items in the bags together. She had a juvenile with her, her husband was contacted to pick up the child as well as the buggy full of purchased items. Once the child was picked up and safe, the mother was arrested and transported. 
Officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle speeding. The officer discovered the vehicle had suspended registration and no insurance. The driver stated that was his aunt’s car and he was just borrowing it. Driver’s license was also suspended for failure to appear. He was arrested and transported to the jail. 
Officers were dispatched in reference to an individual that would not get out of the caller’s vehicle. Driver states she just met the offender a few days ago and gave him a ride to Warner Robins, Swainsboro, and back to Dublin for $20 in gas money. The complainant states she was lonely due to Covid and was looking for a friend. The offender’s version of events varied from the report by the complainant. 
Officers met up with complainant and wife about lost revalidation stickers that were purchased last month but they are not unable to locate it. 
Officer conducted a traffic stop due to vehicle having suspended registration. Officer was dispatched and stated that this same vehicle has already been warned. The drivers’ license was suspended due to failure to appear. He was placed under arrest and transported. 
Officers responded to an apartment complex in reference to a report of harassment. Victim states she took out a temporary restraining order out against her ex-boyfriend and that the judge signed the TPO that day and the ex-boyfriend sent her a video message threatening to slap her and her new boyfriend if he sees them at the club. The video was pointed toward his feet and never showed his face. She was advised to call back if the harassment continued. 
Officers responded to a store where the offender and the complainant were asked to step indie of the office in reference to the merchandise he attempted to conceal. He rang up an item for $2.00 in the self-checkout that was valued at a much greater price instead of asking for assistance in the store for the barcode for this item. The price of the item was reprinted. 
Officer was contacted by phone call stating they were fighting at a ball field. No fighting upon arrival, two parents were confrontational in the parking lot. 
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop due to speeding and the vehicle did not stop. The officer called for backup and followed the vehicle. Driver ran the stop sign and passed another vehicle in a no passing zone. The driver slid out the vehicle and ran through a yard on foot. Marijuana was found on the driver’s seat as well as crack cocaine on the floor between the driver’s seat and the door. The suspect was not found, the drugs were collected and the vehicle was towed. 

March 16
Officer was dispatched to Latitude 105 in reference to deposit account fraud. Upon arrival, complainant stated offender continuously contacted her via telephone during the early morning hours and laughed at her. C/o reported that an unauthorized transaction occurred on her Vero account for $200 and offender has access to her account.
Officer responded to Calhoun St. in reference to a dispute between stepparents and complainant. C/o advised that her step-father and his girlfriend live at the residence. Offender got into a verbal altercation with c/o after he confronted them about allegedly stealing unemployment money and money from c/o’s stimulus check. Officer relayed information given from both parties to another officer, then went back to the front door and did not see offender. Officer began knocking on the open door and offender went to front door from the rear of the residence with a white powdery residue on her nostril. It was then discovered that offender had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for possession of meth.
Officer was dispatched to Easy Stop I reference to a man begging for money in the parking lot.
Officer responded to Liberty St. to an unwanted person. Complainant state that offender keeps going to the residence where c/o’s ill mother lives and causes problems and steals things. C/o has power of attorney over her mother and advised that offender is no longer welcome at the residence.
Officer approached the driveway on N. Main St. and a vehicle began to brake into the roadway. Officer had to apply his brakes hard to make a sharp correction to avoid hitting the vehicle. Officer initiated his emergency lights, turned around, and performed a traffic stop. After obtaining the driver’s license, it was found that he had suspended license.
Officer responded to S. Main St. in reference to a complaint about an individual asking people for money. Offender was arrested for failure to comply with officers on the basis of offender being issued numerous citations in the last two months regarding him walking up to people asking for money. Once under arrest, a search was executed of his person at which point a glass pipe commonly used for smoking crack cocaine was found.
Officer responded to Summitt Ave. in reference to a dispute between ex-partners. Complainant informed officer she was worried where her ex might do as he threatened to place drugs inside of her vehicle in an attempt to get her in trouble.
Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to complainant stating a few days prior, he was at Family Dollar and when he got home, e noticed he had damage to the front bumper of his vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to Happiness Dr. in reference to a prowler on the property. Upon arrival, officer made contact with the homeowner, who stated that someone had been on her carport and jiggled the door handle attempting to gain entry into her home.
