Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…
December 23
Officer received a call from 911 advising him to call a number in reference to a R&F Marketing Manager reporting a break-in.
December 24
Officers received a call to respond to WalMart in reference to a shoplifter.
Officer was dispatched to a Mable Ave. address in reference to a female stealing jewelry from the residence.
Officer was sitting on Hwy 56 N when he noticed a vehicle approaching him at a faster rate of speed than the speed limit of 45 MPH. Officer activated his radar unit and confirmed that the vehicle was traveling at 59 MPH, at which time he initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle attempted to flee and elude. When the vehicle finally came to a stop, the driver jumped out and ran into a wooded area. When officer returned to the vehicle and conducted a search, he found several items with offender’s name and personal information and driver’s license. Once he checked the license through SC, he ran the tag to find it did not belong to the vehicle and it did not have valid insurance.
December 25
Officer responded to EMC in reference to a theft report.
Officer spoke with complainant in reference to a stolen wallet while she was at work.
Officer responded to Sunset Inn in reference to disorderly conduct.
December 26
Officer was on E. Main St. when he observed a vehicle operating with a headlight out, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Upon making contact with the driver, driver provided his DL to find they were suspended.
Officer was on Herrington Ave. for the purpose of an elder patient acting out. Complainant informed officer that offender pushed him out of the chair and he fell to the floor and stated he was too old to be falling on the floor and wanted to press charges.
Officer was dispatched to Modoc Rd. in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Upon arrival, complainant stated he saw the hazard lights flashing and went to investigate to find the vehicle was left unsecured behind a building and the front right tire had fallen off a concrete platform causing the frame of the truck to grounded out. Upon closer inspection, pieces of the vehicles rear bumper were found on the ground behind the tractor and it appeared the vehicle had backed into the tractor.
Officer responded to Sunset Inn in reference to an irate female. Upon arrival, officer met with complainant who advised his wife was in another room cooling off from a verbal dispute that occurred because she was mad that he couldn’t buy her what she wanted for Christmas.
Officer was dispatched to Enmarket in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, officer spoke with complainant who stated offender opened a pack of cigarettes and took two out, then exited the store with them and a fountain drink.
December 27
Officer was dispatched to S. Main St. in reference to a stolen GA registration plate. Complainant stated she received a voicemail from offender that has been harassing her for a while stating she took her registration.
Officer responded to WalMart in reference to a shoplifter.
Officer was on Old Nunez Rd. when he observed a vehicle speeding, at which time he initiated a traffic stop to find the driver stated he may not have a license.
Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to shoplifting.
December 28
Complainant made a report in reference to offender being at her residence on N. Green St. and becoming outraged. Officers were then dispatched later in reference to complainant being struck in the face with a liquor bottle and a stick.
Officer was dispatched to Oak St. in reference to a stolen vehicle report.
Officer spoke with complainant who stated she left her vehicle at a residence on Jefferson St. and when she returned to get it, someone had been through the vehicle and taken several items.
Officer discovered a vehicle in the middle of the road still running and the passenger doors opened and there was nobody around the vehicle. At 9:15 pm, a female subject called 911 to report a stolen vehicle, to find it was the abandoned vehicle.
December 29
Officer was dispatched to S. Main St. in reference to assault.
Officer was traveling on N. Main St. following a vehicle that came back with cancelled registration, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Upon making contact with driver, he stated he did not have his DL on his person but provided his name and DOB, to come back as wanted from Toombs Co. for shoplifting and other charges. Offender then took off running.
December 30
Officers responded to Lee St. in reference to a domestic.
