The Swainsboro Rotary Club met at The Rustic Grill on Monday, October 4, during the noon hour. President Jessica Peebles called the meeting to order and the club recited the pledge, 4 way test and had invocation. Sheriff Jeffery Brewer was the speaker and was introduced by Kristen Hall. Present with the sheriff were Nick Roberson, chief deputy; and Wes Bedgood, chief jailer.
Sheriff Brewer gave an update on some cases that the department has been involved in since he has been in office. He also gave an overview of the many responsibilities of the sheriff’s office.
Guy Singletary also introduced a guest, Justin Moore, that is the public works director for Emanuel County. The next meeting will be Oct. 18 at The Rustic Grill. There will be a board meeting prior to this meeting.
