SECRD 10U Girls to play for State Title

Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department’s (SECRD) 10U Girls Allstar Softball Team will compete in the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) State 10U Girls Softball Tournament hosted by Effingham County Recreation and Sports. The Class A/B Tournament will be played June 22 through June24 at the Clarence E. Morgan Complex in Springfield. Swainsboro-Emanuel’s first game in the State Tournament will be against Moultrie/Colquitt County June 22 at 5:30 pm.

SECRD 10U Girls Allstars qualified to play in the State Tournament by placing second in the GRPA District One Tournament hosted by Lyons Recreation Department June 8 through June 11 at Partin Park in Lyons. Swainsboro-Emanuel lost their first game to Lyons in the district tournament but came back strong to defeat Rincon 7-4; Effingham County 23-1; Vidalia 13-4 and Dublin-Laurens 19-4. They ended the tournament in second place after losing their final game to Lyons, 8-2.

Members of the 10U Girls Allstar Team are Mylie Beneteau, Rayleigh Faircloth, Sophie Farrow, Kaley Flowers, Ansley Frye, Jennifer Hernandez, Kaybreigh Hostilo, Lilly Hudson, Abby Randall Lewis, Anna Grace Scarborough, Jaci White and Kate Yeomans. Coaches are Roy Beneteau, Daniel Flowers, Russ Yeomans and Zach Frye.
