Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department’s (SECRD) 10U Boys Allstar Baseball Team will compete in the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) Youth Baseball 10 & Under State Tournament to be held in Americus beginning June 22. Hosted by Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department, the State Tournament will be played at Sumter Regional Park. Swainsboro-Emanuel will face Mitchell County in their first game June 22 at 7:15 p.m.
SECRD’s 10U Boys qualified to compete in the GRPA State Tournament by placing second in the GRPA District One Tournament held in Lyons June 8-10. Swainsboro-Emanuel defeated Thomson-McDuffie 8-3 and Rincon 11-0 in their first two games of district play. They lost their next two games to Lyons to finish runner up in the tournament.
Playing for the 10U Allstar Team are Chase Banks, Greysn Bargeron, Devin Cuyler, Ashton David, Jeffery Davis, Peyton Deriso, Maddux Hendrix, Kaden Johnson, Elijah Sapp, William Self, Kayden Sutherland and Gavin Worthen. Coaches are Hugh Hendrix, Tim Bargeron and Mike Buxton.
