Royce Eldridge Mosley, 87

Royce Eldridge Mosley, age 87, passed from this life into everlasting joy to be with Our Savior on August 30, 2021, peacefully at home. A graveside was held Friday, September 3, at 11 a.m. at Cool Springs Cemetery with no visitation before or afterwards. 
Mr. Mosley was born at home in Aline on January 18,1934, the last child of nine. He attended school at Aline and then attended Metter High School and graduated in 1952.  Mr. Mosley went to Middle Georgia College in Cochran and continued his education at the University of Georgia and graduated with a degree in Agriculture. He then joined the Army and was a Private 1st class and worked in the Pentagon in the Cryptology department. While in the Army, Royce met his darling wife, Louise Hale, and they were married in 1958. Their family began to enlarge and was enriched with the birth of a son, Timothy, in 1960, and then with the birth of twins, Dianne and David, in 1962. Royce was a farmer most of his life, planting row crops, tobacco, corn, soybeans, and cotton. He also was a rancher, raising swine and cattle for many years. Royce also became a cattleman, raising and buying cattle to be shipped to feed lots, mainly in Ohio and Texas. Being a cattleman was one of the greatest joys of his life. He was appointed to the Candler County Board of Education and served on the board for many years. Royce was a Church of God preacher and he pastored Aline Church of God and the Claxton Church of God. He served as a Chaplin at Candler County Hospital, where he went every Sunday to visit the sick and also at Azalea Nursing Home in Metter, where he went every Friday and held a service for the residents. His main concern in life was bringing people to Jesus Christ. After the death of his first wife Louise, he married Sandra Stille in 2015.  Mr. Mosey is preceded death by his parents, William Louis Mosley and Sally Ann Cannady Mosley; first wife, Louise Hale Mosley; three brothers, Louis (Audrey) Mosley, Edward (Madge) Mosley, and Cecil Mosley; five sisters, Lillian (Jim) Warren, Alice (Mac) McCoy, Ruby (Clarence) Ethridge, Geneva (Jimmy) Douglas, and Louise (Raybon) Warren; and a stepson, Mitchell Henry. 
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Stille Mosley; his oldest son, Tim (Melanie) Mosley; the twins, Dianne (Al) Lawson and David (Sandra) Mosley; seven grandchildren, Raven (Paul) Tschida, Megan (Cohen) Deal, Logan Hall, Pierce Mosley, Jenna Mosley, Sammi Jo (Riley) Johnson, and Elizabeth Lawson; step-children, Mona (Gene) McCook and Karen (DeWayne) Thomas; seven great-grandchildren, Dax, Case, Henley, Braydon, Mercer, Kennedy, and Palmer.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter was in charge of arrangements.
