Robert Underwood, age 74, was called to eternal rest on Sunday, August 4, 2024. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, August 10, at 3:30 p.m. at Roberson Grove Baptist Church in Midville with Pastor Jeanette Harden officiating.
Robert was born June 4, 1950, in Jenkins County, to the late Charlie Underwood, Sr. and Pearlie Mae Randall Underwood. He attended school in Burke County. Robert had many talents including carpentry, brick masonry and plumbing. After living in Augusta for many years, he moved back to his hometown of Midville where he was a man of many skilled trades. Robert was an all-around handyman in the community and loved fishing in his spare time. Mr. Underwood is preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Evelyn Scott; and brothers, Winslow Gaines, Henry Underwood and Richard Underwood.
Mr. Underwood leaves to cherish his memories with his daughters, Topeka (Steven) Ham of Timmonsville, SC and Azure Scott of Augusta; sons, Robert Scott of Augusta, Corey (Krystal) Underwood Scott of North Augusta, SC and Eric (Antoinette) Burney of Augusta; seven grandchildren; two brothers; five sisters; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
