Funeral services for Robert Marion Jr., 93, were held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. at Cotton-Parker Funeral Home in Jersey City, New Jersey with Reverend Dr. Stanley Hearst II as eulogist. Interment followed at Bayview Cemetery in Jersey City, New Jersey. He passed away May 22, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Robert Marion Jr. was born December 11, 1927 to Robert Marion and Nee Sylvia Cody. He was baptized at an early age at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Swainsboro. Marion attended the Swainsboro public school system. After graduation, he served in the United States Army. Marion relocated to Jersey City, New Jersey, where he met and married Eunice Reese. They were married on May 23, 1952. To this union, four children were born, Gail, Robert, Ralph, and Cheryl. Marion was employed by Concrete Plant and Alpha Metals. He joined Monumental Baptist Church, and, there, served as a faithful member. Marion was preceded in death by his loving wife; two brothers, John Ellis Marion and Joseph Marion; and four sisters, Arlene Marion, Mary Rose Blake, Catherine Doyle, and Lucille Hudson.
Survivors include his four loving children Gail (Otto Moss), Robert (Donna) Marion, Ralph (Kim) Marion, and Cheryl; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert, Tyler, Taylor, and Marcus; three siblings, Audrich (Roma) Marion, Joanne (Jeremiah) Foots, Lessie Belle Marion, and James (Ruby) Marion; a host of other relatives; special caretakers, Sharon Williams and Cecelia; and goddaughter, Tenea Greco.
Funeral arrangements were made by Cotton-Parker Funeral Home located at 37 Clinton Avenue in Jersey City, NJ.
