Robbie Lee Williams Carswell, age 97, quietly and peacefully entered into rest on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Comfort Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Wadley after an extended illness. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, October 2, at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Life Fellowship Ministries in Wadley with Rev. Michael Thomas presiding and Apostle Clifford Duckworth, Sr. officiating. Interment followed at Green Cemetery in Cross-Green Community.

Mother Carswell was born June 10, 1924, in Emanuel County, to the late Cleveland and Scennie Spivey Williams. She was baptized at an early age and held membership at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Kingdom Life Fellowship Ministries. Mother Carswell served as Mother of the Church at the latter. Her love for God was demonstrated by her faithful tireless service to her churches where she served in varied capacities. In 1945, Robbie Lee Williams married the love of her life, Mr. Leroy Carswell, and to this union, 10 children were born. Mrs. Carswell is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 4 children; and 3 grandchildren.

Mrs. Carswell leaves to cherish fond memories seven daughters; Betty Jordan, Ida Gladden, Martha Ross, Diane (Marion) Smith, Brenda Cameron, Debra Hunter and Cathy Mitchell; brother, Cleveland Williams; 20 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
