Ricks arrested following weekend traffic stop

On January 13, a deputy with the Emanuel County Sheriff's Office made a traffic stop in reference to a speeding driver. During the traffic stop, the deputy noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and requested assistance from an investigator to conduct a vehicle search. During the search, a variety of different drugs were located along with firearm.

The driver, identified as Harold Hood Ricks, 43, of Swainsboro was placed under arrest and transported to the Emanuel County Jail. He has been charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of amphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of alprazolam with intent to distribute, possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute and possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute.
