The Wiregrass Chapter of the Georgia Society – Sons of the American Revolution (GASSAR) recently held its first meeting since the pandemic began some four months ago.
On Thursday, July 9, President Wilder Smith Jr. presided over the monthly meeting held at New China Restaurant at 6:30 p.m.
Attending the meeting were 21 members and guests, who watched as President Smith inducted Compatriot Alton Reynolds into the chapter. As part of that induction, Reynolds was presented with a certificate from the NSSAR and his wife, Jodi, pinned the SAR Rosette on his left collar.
The SAR Rosette is a small, round pin colored in blue and white representing General George Washington's uniform during the American Revolution.
