Becky was born February 3, 1939, in Hartsville, SC, to the late Edward Dennis and Elsie Miller Hill. She graduated from Richmond Academy in Augusta, then went on to study at the University of Georgia and graduated from Georgia Southern University with an Early Childhood Education degree. Becky taught at the primary school for many years. While teaching at the primary school, she and others began an annual Thanksgiving Pilgrimage that is still celebrated at the school today. Becky went on to further her education, obtaining a Counselor’s degree. She spent many years advising and counseling students at Swainsboro High School. It was always said she raised more children than just her boys. Becky was active in many clubs and organizations such as DAR, Garden Club, and Delta Kappa Gamma. She has always been very dedicated to her Church. After retiring, Becky moved back to Augusta where she was very active at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church. Reid Memorial has always held a very special place in her heart, and she was an Elder and Deacon there. Becky also served with Stephen Ministries where she continued to provide counseling and guidance to all who needed it. She was able to spend a lot of time with her “Grow Up Group” while living in Augusta. Becky always loved gatherings with family and friends. Becky, or “Bec,” as the grandchildren fondly named her, always reminded us that she loved God, her family, and helping people. These three things have been evident throughout her life. Ms. Hill is preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Arthur Richard Daniels, Jr.; brother-in Law, Robert Elliott McElveen; and nephew, Robert McElveen Walker.
Ms. Hill is survived by her three sons, Richard Marlow Daniels (Lisa Ricks), Samuel Hill Daniels (Maria), and Edward Hill Daniels (Cathy); grandchildren, Rachael Daniels Callaway (Kyle), Richard Blaine Daniels (Emily), Jacob Vaughan Daniels (Jenna), Kaitlyn Suzanne, and Jacob Westbrooks; great-grandchildren, Marlowe Elizabeth Daniels, Saige Alexandria Daniels, Richard Blaine Daniels, Jr. and Bethany Ann Henry; twin sister, Sarah Hill McElveen (Sally) of Columbia, SC; brother, Edward Dennis Hill (Caroline) of Savannah; four loving nieces; and her fur baby, Beau.
The family would like to thank Ralph Cowart and the staff at Southern Manor in Statesboro for their excellent care.
Chapman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
