Swainsboro Kiwanis Club’s latest donation to help our community one child at the time was to the local Dixie Youth League Baseball organization. Making the presentation of the monetary support was club member Cayla Page. The Swainsboro Kiwanis Club, along with other civic organizations and local businesses, annually sponsors a team to participate in the Dixie Youth League Baseball Program.
Dixie Youth Baseball is a non-discriminatory community-based organization which aims to promote fair play for all participants and is fully committed to equal opportunity and abides by all applicable Federal, state, and local laws pertaining to nondiscrimination and fair practices. The coaches are all volunteers. Swainsboro Dixie Youth baseball is a family-centered program designed to improve baseball skills and teamwork for boys and girls ages 4-12.
The mission of Dixie Youth Baseball is to promote the development of strong character, a positive attitude, and a sense of responsibility and citizenship in youngsters using the game of baseball as a vehicle. It is the purpose of Dixie Youth Baseball to achieve this goal through fair play, good sportsmanship, and congenial fellowship, with adult leaders providing the example.
Over the past several years, Swainsboro teams have been regular participants in district, state, and world series tournaments traveling to states such as to Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, and South Carolina.
