Chief Alima Mims started his career with Swainsboro Fire Department on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. A pinning ceremony for Chief Mims was held Monday, December 2, at Swainsboro Fire Headquarters. Mayor Bennett was on hand for the swearing in and Mims’ sister, Tina Knight from Alabama, pinned the new fire chief.
Chief Mims acknowledged the promotions of Darin Griner and Allen Farley to Lieutenants and presented the current Lieutenant James Ward with a Red Helmet to distinguish his current rank.
Guests attending the swearing in were treated with light refreshments.
