Mr. Williams was born February 24, 1948, in Kite, to the late Rufus Williams and Esther Claxton Williams. He was a member of Kite Church of God. Paul was a sweet and loving man. He loved to work on cars, trucks and anything he could repair. Paul would come home from work, eat, and fix vehicles until dark. When he wasn’t working, he was fishing and hunting. Paul was always in church on Sundays. He was a family man, and always made sure his family had everything they needed, but not always what they wanted. Paul’s grandchildren were his heart. He didn’t like to travel out of town, but the birth of his granddaughter took him to Statesboro, surprising his family. Paul was a caring man. If he saw someone on the side of the road, he never hesitated to stop and help them. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vera Williams; and brother, Arthur Williams.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ruth Williams of Kite; daughter, Holly Bennett of Kite; grandchildren, Christina Williams of Athens and Edward Bennett of Kite; sister, Lizzie Mae (Roy) Hawkins of Kite; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
