Our all-star girls head to state

Posted

On Tuesday June 21, the Emanuel County recreation department all-star teams headed to state to play ball. Among the traveling players were the all-star girls between the ages of 8 and 12. To commemorate this exciting experience, the Emanuel County Institute Lady Dawgs sent them off with a sweet surprise, handmade baskets made by them for each little dedicated and aspiring softball star. The baskets were filled with snacks and drinks to keep them hydrated throughout the duration of the week and had little notes of encouragement in them that were handwritten by each player. One local softball mom, Allayna Farrow, shared her thoughts on this incredible and encouraging sentiment in a post before sending her baby off to state, “Thanks to the ECI Softball players for their sweet gifts to our girls. Way to be leaders to these younger girls! I’m very proud of the support that our community has shown to these kids!” Good luck girls and we hope that you play your hearts out! Love, the Forest Blade Staff.
