A 29-year-old driver of a 2013 Nissan Altima SV was injured and transported to Emanuel Medical Center by Emanuel County EMS.
At 5:10 p.m., Swainsboro firefighters and police officers were sent to Industrial Way by Colegrove Drive for a reported crash with a car in the ditch. Units arrived and found a three-vehicle chain reaction crash scene with injuries.
A Ford Expedition EL XTL was waiting to turn into Colegrove Drive and the Nissan Altima had stopped behind when it was struck by a RAM 3500 diesel 2-door pick-up towing a cattle trailer with animals on board. The force of the impact sent the Nissan into the rear of the Ford.
The injured female was extricated by city firefighters and EMS personnel, assisted by an Emanuel County sheriff’s deputy. Swainsboro police investigated the crash.
