NBIC picks up the pieces from Saturday night’s fire

New Beginnings in Christ Recovery Home is picking up the pieces this week after a fire destroyed their beloved wood shop on Saturday night. The ministry, which is in Garfield, shared heartbreaking photos over social media on Sunday that displayed the tragic event. Thankfully no one was hurt or injured during the fire, but the loss of the woodshop itself represents a major hardship, as it helped generate revenue for the ministry while providing men an opportunity to learn new skills and develop their character to better themselves in the walk to be more like Christ. The cause of the fire is still undetermined, but the church family remains steadfast in knowing that there is a greater good in all of this.

“First, we'd like to say praise God that no one got hurt. The wood shop has brought a lot of joy to the ministry, and although it's a serious setback, we will come back stronger than ever. It was a total loss that will end up being a total gain. If anyone would like to donate tools or any type of donation, please contact us at 478-763-2647. We would also like to thank the first responders and the fire department. We thank you for your dedication and your hard work,” NBIC shared on Facebook.

The day before the fire occurred, New Beginnings in Christ shared a photo of the woodshop with the smiling, happy faces of its dedicated employees standing in front. They posted the photo with a sweet message that said, “We are blessed to have these Godly men in the woodshop.” The employees of the woodshop included Garnell Coney, Jimmy Delaigle, manager and staff member Joe Maassen, Zak Harper, and Johnny Soles.
