Native entrepreneurs giving back to the community for Christmas

A Community Christmas Giveaway for Children will take place Wednesday, Dec. 23, 12 p.m. – until all gifts/toys are gone at The One Unity Youth Center, 214 N. Main Street. Please use the rear entrance behind Stewart’s Jewelers. To ensure safety, social distancing will be enforced, masks are mandatory and temperature checks will be taken before entry.
The Community Christmas Giveaway is sponsored by Derrick Harper, Swainsboro native and serial entrepreneur, whose philosophy is “to whom much is given, much is required.” Harper, CEO of Derrick Harper Enterprises, Inc., partners with local entrepreneurs, Shayna Boston, owner of BostonFirst Administrative Management Service, Inc., BostonFirst Events, Inc. and BostonFirst Staffing Agency, Inc.; Quan McKinney, owner of ATAP Fundamentals; and Pastor Gary Hackett, One Unity Youth Center and Hackett’s School of Barbering; to make Christmas a little bit brighter this season after the tumultuous year we’ve all had. The pandemic has affected families in many different ways, and Harper wants his hometown to find some relief this Christmas by offsetting this year’s shopping costs.
