Graveside services for Mr. Nathaniel Clark, 69, were held Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Gordon Grove Cemetery in Millen with Elder D.G. Mosley presiding. He passed away July 21, 2020 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

Mr. Nathaniel Clark was born February 8, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York to Phillip and Myrtis Simmons. He began his early education in Millen with his grandparents, Elder Sidney and Missionary Harriet Williams. He later completed his education at Boys High School in Brooklyn. Mr. Clark was a painter by trade and an avid fisherman. He was known as a kind, caring person by all who knew him. “Nat,” as he was commonly called, was well-loved by the community and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was preceded in death by his parents Phillip and Myrtis Simmons; a son, Maurice Ragsdale; sisters, Betty Stone and Phillis (Cookie) Simmons; brother, Irving Simmons; and grandparents, Elder Sidney and Missionary Harriet Williams.

Survivors include a companion of 24 years, Dora Hubert; son, Trevis Ragsdale; daughter, Sabrina White; son, Keith Johnson; sister, Ebony Simmons; brothers, Karon Simmons and Isaiah Simmons; two uncles, Brantley (Alberta) Williams and Frank (Mary Ann) Williams; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
