I am sure you notice that I often “borrow” a topic from another column or article in the Blade. Remember, imitation is the highest form of flattery. “The Doggies” was a tribute to Emanuel County Humane Society. Ronnie Johnson always leads me to remember “what it was like back then.” Most of the list of 2022 was unknown in 1953. My votes in 1953 for Choice Award Winners would have been:

Best piano teacher---Miss Celestine Williams
