Miss Freeman to wed Mr. Scott

Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Donna Freeman of Swainsboro are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Heather Nicole Freeman, to Mr. Kevin Doris Scott of Uvalda. He is the son of Mr. Ricky and Mrs. Vicky Scott of Uvalda and Jan and Jeff Boatright of Blackshear.

The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of Swainsboro High School. She furthered her education at East Georgia College, where she graduated in December 2011 with an associate of arts. The future-bride then continued her education at Gupton-Jones College, where she graduated in February 2013 with an Associate of Science in Funeral Service. Miss Freeman works as the Jeff Davis county clerk and as a funeral apprentice at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors.

She is the granddaughter of Joann Cannon, Martha Faye Freeman, both of Swainsboro, and the late JW and Elna Cannon and the late Rev. Dr. James Ray Freeman.

The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Jeff Davis County High School. He furthered his education at American Intercontinental University, where he graduated with an associate degree in business administration. Mr. Scott started his career with Rayonier in 1999. The company was purchased by Interfor in 2013 and after 21 years, he is still a part of the team working as quality control supervisor

The groom-elect is the grandson of Shirley Long and the late Paul Long of Warner Robins, the late Charles Scott of Lumber City, and the late Dalton and Patricia Powell, also of Lumber City.

The wedding is set for August 1, 2020 at 6 p.m. at Rocky Creek Lodge in Vidalia. A reception will follow at the same place. Formal invitations will not be sent.
