Miriam Hendley Johnson, age 90, of Millen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 15, at 1 p.m. at Elam Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Tim Fields officiating.
Miriam was born on August 5, 1934, in Jenkins County, to the late Grady and Esther Clifton Hendley. Her career spanned various roles over the years including teaching and property ownership/management. Ms. Johnson is preceded in death by her sons, Winton L. Johnson, Jr., Jay Grady Johnson and William Lee Johnson; and granddaughters; Amanda Johnson and Jessica Johnson.
Survivors include her sons, John Alex Johnson and Tracy Alan Johnson (Karen); daughter, Carolyn Fields (Wayne); 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
