Middle School Eagles defeat rival team, 36-8

David Emanuel Academy Middle School Eagles hosted Crisp Academy for some Thursday night football action October 8.

Following the 6 p.m. kick-off, Hadden Nease scored the first touchdown of the night with a 30-yard interception for a 6-0 score. The 2-point conversion attempt from Richard Braddy to Banks Booth was deemed successful, rounding the score up to 8-0.

A completed play featuring a 30-yard touchdown pass from Booth to Braddy gained the Eagles additional leverage over their opponents, rounding the score up 14-0. A two point conversion attempt followed but was deemed unsuccessful.

Booth hurled the ball to Clayton Hood, completing a 40-yard touchdown pass play and increasing the Eagle’s scoreboard, 20-0. A two-point conversion play from Brody Fleming to Jaxson Wiggins added an additional two points to the middle school team’s score, 22-0.

Running the ball for a 38-yard touchdown play, Ethan Fields gained even more points for the young Eagles. The  two-point conversion play completed by Tucker Free and Booth increased the score to 30-0.

Fleming’s cleats dug into the Stillmore football field deep when making the final completed play for the evening, an 88-yard touchdown run. Although the 2-point play to follow was deemed unsuccessful, the middle school Eagles defeated their hosted team with a final score of 36-8.

The Eagles will take a night off the field this coming Thursday, October 15. The team will host Vidalia Heritage Academy October 22 at 6 p.m. for the final scheduled game of season.
