Sunday morning, children will awake sleepily from their beds, and stumble down the hallway to a tree-lit room filled with Christmas dreams come true. They’ll wake their parents with bed-jumping and an excitement that can only be experienced on Christmas Day. These are the special moments that become core memories for a lifetime and although it’s hard to ignore the magic and bliss that comes from thoughts of Saint Nicholas, we must also remember the reason for the season.
The song, 'O Holy Night', reminds us that Jesus, holy Jesus, was born in a manger. Through his humble beginnings, we remember to love mankind through Jesus' example. We fall on our knees in awe and worship of him and we recall the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus underneath brightly shining stars. The same stars that pointed to the Savior of the world on that beautiful, holy night. Today, we wanted to share a Bible verse with you from Luke 2:11 to remind everyone the reason for the season. This verse says, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” As Christmas is rapidly approaching, we hope that you will take time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Amid the presents, cookie decorating, and parties, remember that Jesus is the reason for the season, and we hope that you all have yourselves a very merry little Christmas! The Forest Blade will be closed on Friday, December 23 in recognition of the Christmas holiday.
