HER YEAR’S REIGN BEGINS
Miss Linda Sconyers was choice of judges for the title of “Miss Swainsboro Raceway”. The speedway queen was chosen by judges for the title during the Lions Club “Labor Day 100” stock car race and beauty contest at Swainsboro Speedway.

FIRST IN 1971
The first bale of cotton reported ginned in Emanuel County was grown by Manning Mimbs of near Adrian. It weighe3d 555 pounds and was ginned by Coleman Gin in Swainsboro. Posing with the first bale are Henry Powell Jr, Wiley Cox, Gerald Hooks, James Brown, Master Kendall Mimbs atop the bale, and Mr. Mimbs.
