Members of the 1961 boys basketball team were Joe Black, Vernon Hughes, Charles Williamson, Loran Williamson, Morris Hall, Ray Oglesby, Francis Ridgdill, Jimmy Wilson, Errol Harron, Capers Phillips, Gerald Strange, Billy Grier, Gene Phillips, Buddy Lumley, with Coach Studdard.
OAK PARK GIRLS TEAM
Coach Jerry Studdard had high hopes for his 1961 girls’ basketball squad. Members included Betty Williamson, Karen Vaughn, Mildred Lumley, Eloise Beckum, Patsy Coleman, Patsy Kirby, Barbara Logan, Patricia Williams, Sara Tapley, Joyce Larriscey, Wilda Lumley, June Collins, Janice Collins, and Emalyn Grier.
