TIME TO GIVE THANKS

In 1621, the first Thanksgiving celebration was held between the Plymouth colonists and the Wampanoag Indians as they shared an Autumn harvest feast. The first time all 13 colonies celebrated Thanksgiving was in 1789, when President George Washington proclaimed Thursday, Nov. 26, to be a “day of public thanksgiving and prayer,” to especially give thanks for the opportunity to form a new nation and the establishment of a new constitution.
