GROOVY, BABY!

This float from Changes beauty salon in Swansboro was but one of the many colorful floats in the 56th Annual Kiwanis Pine Tree Festival parade. Hundreds flocked downtown to watch the parade and shop at booths that were set up. 

UP, UP AND AWAY!

Emanuel County Senior Center members and staff launched balloons to kick off Senior Citizens Month. The annual balloon launch marked the beginning of the month-long celebration which included Trivia “Hodge Podge,” nutrition education, Mothers’ Day program, legal aid, auction, exercise classes, program on Elder Abuse, blood pressure screenings, program, “How to Talk to Your Doctor and Have Him Listen,” Memorial Day program, exercise awareness day, quilting, cards and line dancing club. In addition, Emanuel County Senior Center Line Dancers performed at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home and Treutlen County Nursing Home. To conclude the month, there were covered dish supper and dance with Glenn Watkins providing entertainment. Theme for the dancer was Aloha from Hawaii.
