Memory Lane: March 31, 1971

She’s the first
Miss Kay Frazier, student at Adrian High School, accepted the first “Young American Award” presented by Swainsboro Exchange Club. Making the presentation was Fred Womack, awards committee chairman. John C. Spivey, father of the “Young American” project, looked on. Miss Frazier is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Frazier of Adrian.

First place winners
Swainsboro High School students who took first places in Region 2-AA literary competition were Lillian Robinson, member of girls’ trio, Rebecca Bailey, girls’ essay, Lonnie Wynn, girls’ essay, and Sharon Sconyers, home economics. Not shown was another first place winner, Geneva Johnson, the third member of the girls’ trio. The group represented Swainsboro High in state competition later that Spring.
