COLEMAN TO LEAVE FOR NATIONAL MEET
Wilder L. “Sonny” Coleman, business education major at Swainsboro High School, represented Georgia at the National Future Business Leaders of America Convention in Washington, DC, June 11-13. Sonny won the state title of “Mr. FBLA” at the Georgia Chapter meeting held at Rock Eagle State Park near Eatonton May 5-6. Selected for the honor on the basis of an interview, a letter of application, and a review of his accomplishments in school and in the community, he also earned the right to represent the state in the national finals. As state winner, he received a gold trophy awarded an all-expense-paid-vacation at Ida Cason Callaway Gardens. Sonny was the sone of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph W. Coleman of Swainsboro.



IN ACCORDANCE
In accordance with the national effort to identify and reward superior scholastic achievement among high school students, the University of Georgia awarded a Certificate of Merit to Faye Braswell and Lynda Hall who were members of the Junior Class at Adrian High School. The award recognized outstanding achievement for the first three years of high school and encouraged the student to pursue a formal program of higher education. The certificates were presented by Earl Varner, an alumnus of the University.
