MILLS TAKES TOP HONORS IN COUNTY SPELLING BEE

Brandy Mills, student at Emanuel County Institute, Twin City, took top honors in the annual Emanuel County spelling bee. Sponsored by Emanuel Association of Educators, the spelling bee was held Wednesday at East Georgia College, Swainsboro. Five schools were represented in the competition.

WHEN I GROW UP

Firemen and policemen are the first idols of many of our children. They are heroes who face danger almost daily to preserve and protect the safety and property of everyone in the community. All children have idols, and all children learn, to a great advantage, by emulating their idols and elders. How important it is, then, to present an example to them that is good and constructive. And one founded upon the principles of Christianity.
