Recognized for athletic success
Swainsboro High School’s girls basketball team was recognized by Emanuel County BOE at its April meeting. The team went to the Elite Eight round of the state playoffs. Recognized were team members Aljeanna Harden, Tracie Harden, and Adrienne Moore. Board members John Neighbors and Burley Page presented certificates to the girls and Lady Tigers Coach Bobby Andrews.

It’s not a bird, nor a plane, but Swainsboro High’s Jason Samples put together a superman performance Saturday, April 7, at the Parker-White Invitational Relays. Samples, the defending triple-jump champion, set a new meet record and posted the best jump in the state with a jump of 49-feet, five and one-half inches.
