The City of Twin City and American Legion Post 103 hosted a Memorial Day in Twin City ceremony honoring the lives of military men and women who died defending our county's freedom. Special recognition was also given to active and retired military as well.
The event began at 5 p.m. at the Twin City Welcome Center. Mayor Matt Donaldson welcomed all and American Legion members performed the posting of colors. Invocation was then led by Main Street Program Manager Huddie Culbreth and was followed by Twin City Police Chief Hank Whiters performing the National Anthem. Remarks were then heard from Mayor Donaldson, who recognized all military and their families. Taps was then performed by an American Legion Post member prior to the program being adjourned. Individuals in attendance enjoyed light refreshments while socializing with one another.
