Bre-Lynn Atkinson’s , affectionately known at MeMe, first Fill-A-Trunk giveaway event was held Saturday, December 11, at The Forest-Blade, located on West Moring Street. The 10-year-old’s Christmas toy giveaway was deemed a success and brought in much toys for distribution. So much so that they ended up having to use a truck to help maintain the quantity of toys.
For an event that started small in size, it grew even larger in heart and has affected the lives of many this holiday season. All because one little girl decided to make a difference.
After much promotion of her Christmas wish to give to other’s this year, the gesture garnered a total of $1,890 in donations, far exceeding expectations.
The event concluded approximately 12 p.m. with all remaining toys being donated to the Toys-4-Tots Drive.
