On December 4, the Sons of Confederate Veterans McLeod Moring Camp #1386 and the Georgia Society Order of Confederate Rose (OCR) Heritage Roses from Emanuel County participated in the second annual Christmas in Dixie Festival hosted by the SCV Robert Toombs Camp #932. The SCV McLeod Moring Camp #1386 and their ladies support group OCR Chapter #15 Heritage Roses and participated with a float entry in the parade that was held in Vidalia.

The McLeod Moring Camp and Heritage Roses based in Emanuel County locally raised funds to assist two families by providing them with turkeys and all the trimmings to have a nice Christmas dinner. The needs for the households varied so the groups provided groceries for one family and the other family received clothing and items for the children to have a much merrier Christmas.
