Mr. Mayo David Lee, 62, of Wadley, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Pruitt Health – Old Capitol following an extended illness. Funeral services were Thursday, June 10, at 3 p.m. at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church with Reverend Allen Meeks officiating. Interment followed at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were Brent Ross, Lenzy Lee, Jared Morrison, Sammy Lee, Cody Rogers, and Camron Davis.

Mr. Lee was born March 1, 1959, in Swainsboro, to Daniel Novis Lee and the late Gloria Rowland Lee. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt. Mr. Lee also enjoyed sitting on the porch, and was of the Baptist faith. He graduated from Johnson County High School and was an auto mechanic. Mr. Lee is preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his father; wife, Cindy S. Lee of Wadley; son, Jonathan Lee of Chicago, IL; daughter, Courtney Lee of Rochester, NY; step-daughter, Katie (Cody) Rogers of Harlem; brothers, Robert (Cathy) Lee of Kite and Greg (Pam) Lee of O’Fallon, IL; sister, Debbie (Jim) Molton of Wadley; step-granddaughter, Anna Rogers; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
