Ms. Martha Jane Lively Smith, 72, of Kite passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services were Tuesday, October 20 at 11 a.m. at Williams Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Lamar Kersey officiating. Interment followed in the Williams Chapel Church cemetery. The family received friends Monday, October 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6--feet rule was enforced during visitation and service.  Also, family requested everyone to please wear a mask and social distance.

Pallbearers were Stevie Miller, Vance Lively, Matt Steptoe, Hunter Moore, Kylon Lopez, and Taylon Martinez.

Ms. Lively was born April 29, 1948 in Swainsboro to the late Talmadge Pierce and Lenna Fennell Bearden. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tommy Bearden; and grandson, Randy Vincent Miller. Ms. Lively was a CNA for many years at Sara Overstreet Care Home and Emanuel Medical Center. She enjoyed cookouts, dancing, shopping, and spending time with her family. Ms. Lively loved taking care of all her pets. She was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her companion of 38 years, Ronald Smith of Kite; sons, Tracy Lively (Melissa) of East Dublin, Bennie Williams (Diana) of Kite, and Christopher Williams (Francine) of Woodstock; daughters, Lisa Miller (Wendy Farrow) of Adrian and Sabrina Martinez (Pepe) of Kite; brothers, Randy Bearden (Susie) of Jasper and John Bearden (Susan) of Panama City, FL.; sisters, Ann Canup (Kurt) of Jackson and Jeannie Lorimer (Alan) of Jasper; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
