Mrs. Margie Fae Andrews succumbed to extended illness at her home on Monday, July 12, 2021. She was laid to rest on Friday, July 16, at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Statesboro with Rev. William Reaves as Eulogist.
Mrs. Andrews was born January 6, 1934, to the late Mr. Lester and Tera Parrish in Bulloch County. She received her education in the Candler County School system and went on to be a professional homemaker and Environmental Engineer, servicing many families in Swainsboro. Amidst her career, she was a prolific speaker and community activist with a love for human servitude. Mrs. Andrews joined the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at a young age and served faithfully until shortly before her death. She sang in the choir, was a member of the PPR Committee, and President of the Kitchen Committee and United Methodist Women. Mrs. Andrews is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Mr. Daniel Andrews, Sr.
Their love resulted in three children, Debra Andrews Thomas of Augusta, Daniel Andrews, Jr. of Swainsboro, and Anthony Lamont (Laurie) Andrews of Jacksonville, NC.
Mrs. Andrews leaves a legacy of 7 grandchildren, Patricia (Dayton) Raymond of Aiken, SC, Alicia
(Mario) Bloomfield of Clarksburg, MD, Anthony Andrews, Daniel Andrews III, and Breanna Andrews, all of Jacksonville, NC, and Gabrianna and Brendan Andrews of Rockville, MD; 6 great- grandchildren, Dayton Raymond Jr, Kylee Raymond, and Caleb Raymond of Aiken, SC, Makai Shaw and Alaya Andrews of Jacksonville, NC, and Evin Bloomfield of Clarksburg, MD; one brother, Mr. Luie (Francine) Parrish of Ridge, NY; sisters, Ms. Carol Smith of Marion, NY, Patricia (Wilbert) Bellard of Macon, Gwendolyn Rogers of Riverdale, Vivian (David) Scott of New York, NY, and Margaret (Curtis) Tillman of Atlanta; 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Josephine C. Parrish of Pulaski and Ms. Sarah Andrews of Cincinnati, OH; one brother-in-law, Samuel (Deborah) Andrews of Hephzibah; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services were entrusted to Whitaker Funeral Home of Metter.
