On Friday, January 1, 2021, Miss Lucille Thompson departed this life, following a short illness. Graveside service was held Wednesday, January 6, at 12 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant CME Church in Bartow with Eulogist Elder D. G. Mosley officiating.
Miss Thompson was born June 6, 1946, in Bartow to the late Joe and Lizzie Bell Thompson. She was a native of Bartow, and later moved to Emanuel County. Miss Thompson was a member of the Mt. Pleasant CME Church, and was employed by East Georgia State College as a custodian. She loved her family and always enjoyed spending time with them.
Miss Thompson leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Marcus Thompson of St. Mary’s and Steven Doyle of Swainsboro; three sisters, Mary Sue Archie and Willie Ann Thompson, both of Swainsboro, and Annie Smith of Covington; two brothers, Joe Thompson of Swainsboro and Curtis Thompson of Louisville; one granddaughter, Mia Rose Thompson of St. Mary’s; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was is charge of arrangements.
