Love on Love (pt.2)

Love is the most powerful force in the universe. Love heals, love forgives, love gives up right for wrong, love sacrifices, love is endless. So if we begin to love, our world will be at peace. Love is the more excellent way. When we get carried away with things which divide and separate us, then we cannot come together in love. Jesus prayed to the father to make us one as he and the father are one. He chose us to be one in him (St. John chapter 17).
Now Psalms 133:1 states, "How good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity." Things will be good and things will be pleasant when we unite and not cause division. Ephesians 6:12 let us know that, "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." So let us love the person, but hate the actions.

Now we see why Jesus says to love your enemies. In Matthew 5:43-48, Jesus admonishes us to love. He was very specific about loving your enemies. He says for us to bless them and curse not. He says to do good to them, which despitefully use you and persecute you. So we must pray for our enemies. In this, Jesus is saying we must learn to love each other.
Yes, love is the more excellent way. It was not easy for Jesus, and it will not be easy for us. But if he did it as our example, then we, too, must walk in love. We must love because God is love. God commands us to let brotherly love continue. It must never stop. Let us all try love. Love saved us through the love of the Father and the Son, and we must save each other through love as we, too, live as one. The greatest commandment God gives is for us to love.
