Mrs. Loretta Lee Weller, age 79, departed this life on March 14, 2021. Graveside service was held Saturday, March 20, at 11 a.m. in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Elder Keith McKinney presiding and Pastor Melvin Adams as Eulogist.
Mrs. Weller was born February 18, 1942, in Swainsboro, to the late Rev. Joseph D. Lee and Creama Bell Lee. She attended Swainsboro High School and worked various jobs after graduating. Later, she lived in Brooklyn, NY, where she worked many years at a well-known retail store. Mrs. Weller then attended cosmetology school in New York and received her license. She was a member of the Greater Saint James Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Weller had no biological children, but she was a mother to many of the family members with her love, her concern, and her guidance that meant a lot to the family. Mrs. Weller is preceded in death by her loving parents; sister, Louise Young, Josie Bell Johnson, Betty Jean Ricks, and Alma V. McKinney; and brother, Charles Lee.
Mrs. Weller leaves fond memories that will always be cherished by her sister, Carolyn Wright (Louis); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
