Library hosts Christmas celebration for teen board members

Franklin Memorial Library treated the Teenage Advisory Board (TAB) to a Christmas party in celebration of all that was accomplished this year. The TAB team started back up this summer, and they played an integral role in the Summer Reading Program 2021 as well as the many other programs offered throughout the fall. TAB members helped out with crafts, outreach (such as Trunk or Treat in October) and ideas for book selection and additional programming. This year, TAB started an art-anime club headed by Terkeithia Moye. This club meets directly after each TAB meeting every month.

At the Christmas party celebration, TAB members enjoyed gourmet snacks, including cheese dip, and music before playing three games: a white elephant gift exchange, the never-ending wrapped present and the race to unwrap a present with mittens.

TAB will continue to help out at the library. Any interested teenagers looking to get local volunteer hours should contact Windy at Franklin Memorial Library.

"TAB is cool; you should join," says Kodi Lovett of Swainsboro (pictured, second from right).
