Letter to the Editor: Thank you!

Posted

Dear Editor,
I wanted to take the time to share my appreciation and highlight a local Walmart Pharmacy employee. Although I don’t know the employee’s name, I am hoping this letter reaches her or at least shines a positive light on just how much an act of kindness can greatly impact others.
Recently while shopping at Swainsboro Walmart, I started feeling bad. I was in the pharmacy department when I began to experience cold sweats accompanied by hot flashes and couldn’t walk.
The pharmacy employee had just finished her shift and noticed I was having health problems as she was leaving. She asked if I was okay and offered assistance. The employee located another pharmacy employee who was on shift to speak with me and offer further assistance. Throughout the entire time, the pharmacy employee stayed with me and offered as much assistance as she possibly could.

Once the unexpected spell had passed and I felt better, the pharmacy employee offered to help me get to my truck. I hadn’t paid for my items yet, so she assisted me in checking out. While checking out, I found out that Walmart was not accepting cash and was only accepting card payments. The total cost for my items was around $25, and, although I didn’t expect her to, the pharmacy employee paid for my items and then helped me out to my truck.
To the kind Walmart Pharmacy employee, thank you.

Sincerely,
Opal Chalker of Swainsboro
