Dear Editor,
This letter is to encourage those in our community who are new firearm owners/users, and others who need a refresher course on how to safely use a firearm to consider attending the civilian firearms course conducted by the Swainsboro Police Department.
The course content is clear and presented in a format that is appropriate for most anyone interested. After attending the course and firing your weapon at the firing range, you will gain confidence and feel comfortable using your firearm, legally, to protect yourself and your property. Discussions on your rights as a firearm owner were very informative. In today’s environment, it is information we all need to have.
The officers conducting the course had great knowledge and expertise. I would like to thank Chief Randy Ellison and the other officers for conducting the course. Police officers and their families make great sacrifices to keep us safe. They put their lives on the line so that we can go about our daily lives feeling safe. Remember them in your prayers.
