Fishing. What's fishing to you? Today I went fishing. I really didn't want to go but I went anyway. Once I got to the water, I just enjoyed looking at the waves and feeling the breeze. I began to reflect on Jesus telling his followers that he would make them fishers of men. So, Jesus followers go fishing. When have you been fishing? Or rather, have you caught anything lately?
To go fishing, you must prepare a tackle box which is equipped for fishing. So, it is to fish for men. You must put on the whole armor of God. You must be equipped with the word of God. Your life must reflect Jesus. For Jesus said, "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me". Now that is what fishing is about, drawing people to Christ. Every day and everywhere you go, you should be fishing.
Your life should be equipped to draw people to Christ.
It's not for you to judge the kind of fish. It doesn't matter if they are large or small. Does not matter if they're rich or poor. Old or young, male or female. When we live the life, Jesus will do the drawing. So, remember every day, when you have accepted Christ, you are fishing. So, continue to equip yourself and live your life to reflect Christ. Keep the bait fresh, which is your relationship with Jesus. "Go Fishing."
