Peyton Lee, son of Michael and Jana Lee, and the David Emanuel Academy Salutatorian for the Class of 2025, was recently awarded the Davis-Hilburn Scholarship presented by the Dublin Rotary Club. Peyton is this year’s District 6920 Winner. The Davis-Hilburn Memorial Fund was established in 2007 to memorialize the lives of former Rotary presidents Jeff Davis III and Jim Hilburn. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize a deserving student who is planning to advance his education at the college level with a desire to become a future leader in his community. Meg Evans, the Youth Recognition and Scholarships Committee chair, introduced Peyton at the May 2 meeting of the Dublin Rotary Club. Ms. Evans highlighted Peyton’s achievements in academics with his 4.0 average, Headmaster’s List throughout high school, and STAR Student status as well as in athletics with Peyton’s lettering in football, basketball, and tennis and participating in the state playoffs in each sport. Dublin Rotary President Ryan Waldrep presented Peyton with his scholarship with Peyton’s parents, grandmother Petite Garrett, aunt Amanda Lariscey, head of school at DEA Haylee Free, and guidance counselor Andy Sutton in attendance.
