Leave it Alone

Have you ever tried to fix a broken relationship and the more you tried to correct it, the situation only got worse? Well, there are some things you cannot fix. Yes, fix what you can but know when to leave it alone.

I was struggling with a situation in my life. I felt responsible therefore I wanted to fix it. Every time I would try, I was rejected. So, through pray and godly advice, I left it alone.

Over the past week I have been listening to the Anointed Pace Sisters songs of worship. There is a song which gave me consolation in my situation. The lyrics said, " Leave it alone, leave it alone, leave it alone, leave it alone. God can fix it better than you can, leave it alone."

Now that reminds me of Joseph in the book of Genesis chapter thirty-eight being sold by his brothers. As I read it, I always saw, "...and God was with him." God took Joseph from the pit to the palace. God prospered Joseph, no matter where he was. So those situations and circumstances that are too much for you, leave it alone. God can fix it better than you can, so leave it alone.

Now the lyrics written by Joseph Scriven will always bring it home so much closer. It says, "What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear. What a privilege it is to carry, everything to God in prayer. O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bare. All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.”

Yes, leave it alone. Leave it alone. God can fix it better than you can, so leave it alone. "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." Romans 12:19.

It will also help us to go back and get some of those songs that helped our parents and grandparents get through life situations. One that comes to mind is, "Let Jesus fix it for you, He knows just what to do. Whenever you pray, let Him have His way. Jesus will fix it for you."

But in order for Him to fix it, you must “Leave it Alone.”
