Unicorns were the theme of a party honoring Miss Leanna Scarboro’s fourth birthday on Saturday afternoon, June 6. Leanna is the younger daughter of Scrap and Heather Scarboro of Swainsboro. Maternal grandparents are Kris and Shelia Porcel, and paternal grandparents are Wayne and Wanda Scarboro, all of Swainsboro.

Pink balloons marked the driveway to their country home off Stingray Road. Immediate family and friends were welcomed by Leanna, wearing her colorful unicorn dress and silver shoes. Her hair was pulled back with two pink bows.

Guests enjoyed an afternoon of swimming in the pool. A swingset and playhouse provided entertainment for the younger children. A bounce house and waterslide were enjoyed by everyone.

Leanna’s father, along with “Peepaw Kris” and “Gandaddy Wayne,” grilled hot dogs. Her three-layer unicorn cake was decorated in yellow, pink, and blue buttercream icing. Big sister Lainey helped her blow out her four candles. Vanilla ice cream, chocolate ice cream, and chips completed the refreshment table.

Leanna received many fun and educational toys. Her favorite was a white doctor’s jacket, along with a medical bag, given by maternal grandparents Kris and Shelia.

After the party, Leanna took a piece of birthday cake to her paternal great-grandmother, Gertrude Thompson, who will turn 100 this year.
