Miss Latisha Denise Rutherford, age 42, left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Graveside service was held Sunday, March 28, at 1 p.m. in Johnson Chapel Church Cemetery with Rev. Dewayne Rollins as Eulogist.

Miss Rutherford was born November 22, 1978, to Regina L. Stokes and Ray C. Hughes. She graduated from Portal High School in 1997 and received her CNA certificate after graduation. Miss Rutherford owned and operated her own home daycare center. After a few years, she returned to the medical field as an ER Tech for Candler County Hospital. She attended EGSC and earned her associate degree, and was employed as a medical assistant with East Georgia. Latisha recently enrolled back in school to further her medical degree as a RN. Miss Rutherford is preceded in death by her father.

Miss Rutherford leaves to cherish her many memories with her three children Quinton Q. Torrence of Atlanta, Jaleel Rutherford and Taniya R. Simmons, both of Swainsboro; her mother, Regina (Chris) Stokes of Glennville; sister, Tawanda K. Bailey of Statesboro; Taquita L. (Derrick) Hills and Latika L. Cuyler, both of Swainsboro; brothers, Leroy C. Ball and Shon Hughes, both of Swainsboro, Ray Hughes, Jr. of Statesboro, and Dwight Hughes of Millen; many other relatives and friends.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
